The University Leadership Development (ULD) department serves Virginia Tech by providing leadership, management and professional development programs to staff and faculty. Whether you are an individual wanting to develop your skills, a faculty member or an administrator needing to build skills to more effectively guide your team - we can help you succeed.

ULD provides consultation and training for staff and faculty to enhance individual effectiveness and leadership performance.

Leadership Development Workshops

Our leadership development program is designed and customized to meet the unique development needs of VT faculty, A/P faculty and staff in pay bands 5 and above who lead and manage faculty and/or staff.

Management Development Workshops

Our management development workshops are designed for VT managers in pay bands 4 and below who have supervisory responsibility.

Strategic Planning Services

ULD provides strategic planning services designed to improve productivity and efficiency for Colleges, Departments, or work groups in the University community.

Customer Service Certificate Program

Virginia Tech believes in creating and maintaining a customer service culture in which all employees understand the expectations for helpful behaviors - anticipating needs, remaining with an issue until it is resolved, demonstrating ownership of issues, and working collaboratively as a part of a team.
